Container Concept Prototyping
As a part of my Idustrial Design module, this project involved coming up with a conceptual design for a container, the main aim being to go through the process of deriving inspiration from things in everyday surroundings and then, iterating on and developing the design.
The inspiration for my initial designs came from 4 main categories:

Nature
-
Architecture
-
Transportation
-
Time (Besides time keeping devices, I decided photography could also be tied into this category.)
Iterating on designs and picking the design to take forward.
Considering different materials for the surfaces. Aluminium and MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) were the chosen for the construction of the container.
CAD (NX) was used to aid in determining the right dimensions for the parts to fit together and gain a better visualisation of proportions.
Engineering drawings, manufacturing and assembly.
